I thought you were a professional, but thanks!
[info]angelashupe
Sometimes I would love to reach through the computer and smack the person on the other end.  Unfortunately I can't and, worse yet, I must restrain myself.  So I do.

Do you know what I have loved about the last few mornings?  The sunrise has been a deep orange.  Absolutely beautiful.

I saw an article on Google News that mentioned a new study that says babies cry with an accent.  Apparently in less than a week babies are able to 'mimic' their parents accent in their cry.  They compared French babies to German ones and, well, it was interesting.  I know not all crying sounds the same but I never really heard an accent in between WAAAAA's before.  I wonder how much money was spent determining something as useless as that.

Oh, here is that article I mentioned writing recently.

I found an interesting piece on women owned businesses today and couldn't resist writing something up about it on Today's Mompreneur.  As a matter of fact, I hadn't updated that website for almost a month now so it is simply amazing that I felt inspired to do so.  Like I had said before, I was in a rut.  I've long since learned that I can't push myself or nothing will happen.

Yesterday I got my package from [info]evillittlekiwi.  I paid shipping for her leftover card stock.  She had a project she was going to use it for and changed her mind.  I was more than happy to take it off her hands!  I like having stuff like that around for projects.  I'm also almost out of my white card stock.  It couldn't have come at a better time. :-)  Besides some great colored and white card stock, she also sent along some envelopes.  It comes in handy considering I have wanted to create my own note cards.  I saved all of my It's Happy Bunny calendar pages and I want to incorporate each page into a note card.  Now I can, and will.  Nothing fancy but definitely fun!  I also already own funky craft scissors so I can add a nice touch to everything.

I think I know what I will be doing this weekend...

Hello, out there...
[info]alg
Hello! I just wanted to say that I've finally snagged a Twitter account that I will use to complain about books I hate and television shows that are boring in 140 characters or fewer. Possibly I'll also talk about the books and television shows that I love, but that's up in the air. :)

(ETN: I won't be following everyone back. It's not because I don't like you, it's because I just don't have that kind of time!)

Time to do the 10k dance! :D

LiveJournal Major Notes: Spam counter-attack, RSS feeds again, CSI Deadly Intent contest
[info]theljstaff wrote in [info]news

The empire strikes back

In recent weeks, we've taken huge steps towards blocking spam accounts on LiveJournal. In fact, we've suspended as many as 30,000 accounts in a single day! We've implemented several pre-emptive measures to prevent the creation of spam accounts, and we've honed our detection of suspicious content. Spam bots are a crafty lot, so we'll continue to refine our tactics and keep up the good fight to keep you safe from spam attacks on LiveJournal.

RSS feeds again

If you're addicted to [info]xkcd_rss, [info]icanhaschzbrgr, or other syndicated feeds, we're pleased to report that we've resolved the update error that was mucking up your RSS feeds. While content was being pulled correctly, it wasn't being posted to the feeds themselves. Late last week, we finally nailed down what we hope was the root problem, so content should post properly. We thank you for your patience.

I don't know if that piece will officially kill my writers block but... it was worth it.
[info]angelashupe
For about a month now I have had shiny object syndrome.  Basically, everything looked better than writing an article for myself.  Oh, sure, I could still push out what was needed for my clients but I couldn't muster one word for myself.  Not one.

The dam broke earlier today when I was working on something for a client.  I had to stop for a minute and, thanks to my ability to type around 80wpm, I pumped out what flooded from my mind into a word document.  It was only 1/3 of an article but it was enough.  After that minute passed I was back to what I was working on in the first place.  The moment Monkey was on the school bus for school I brought the document back up and finished the article.  My count showed that it was between 650-700 words, not my largest but enough.

Before you ask, "Oh, gee, what creative project did your mind come up with?" I must tell you that it wasn't creative.  Stuck on the fact that I might be doomed as a business writer forever, what I wrote was about direct sales.  The description of the process is really much more interesting than the article would be to most folks... unless you've played with the idea of joining a direct sales company.

I just finished cleaning up what I wrote and submitted it to the American Chronicle.  They tend to publish a lot of direct sales stuff so, unfortunately, it will probably just land right in the middle of all the other stuff on the topic but I got it out of me.  With how I felt lately, that's a miracle.  I also think it came out well.  You know, considering the topic wouldn't interest anyone that knows me.

I didn't want to write about, or acknowledge, this dry up of creative juices.  Not until I could write something.  I've found that my ability to write seems to come and go.  Usually it is based on my feelings.  If I feel low, I wouldn't be able to write my way out of a paper sack.  If I feel confident (or even just good), I can't stop writing.  Sometimes when the creativity hits I write so much that I end up with a bad case of writers block.  Then I get low.  Then with the paper sack problem again.  It's a vicious cycle.  Worse yet, I seem to be the only person with this problem.  Or maybe it just feels like it.  Or maybe my droughts just last longer than most.  I don't know what it is but it's a horrible feeling.

If I am a peak again with my writing, I hope it lasts for a while.  I could use a good, long, creative boost to get me through until after the holidays.

And if you ever need a guidline in what you probably should not do...

If there is any truth behind her case against them, I hope she wins.

I suppose a little backtracking is in order.  I remember hearing about Christine some time back, she invented the headphones that make it impossible for people to turn the volume up past a safe level for the listeners ears.  They work with any player, MP3, CD, etc.

From what I've gathered while reading the press release, she made the mistake of selling her business to someone else... believing that she would eventually be paid her $1 mil from it.  The keyword here is eventually.

I've never invented anything but from what I do know, your business is like having a baby.  Literally.  You work hard to prepare, give birth to and grow it.  It is a lot of work and you really need a passion for what you're doing if you want to continue facing each day loving it.  I've seen entrepreneurship at its worst with someone I once worked for, where there was no passion for what they did.  I've also seen it at its best.

I am basing this all on the press release of course and it is alleged until proven otherwise, so this is definitely not the final word on the topic.  I am interested in seeing how this turns out though.

Digimon art book list?
[info]yukimayari wrote in [info]digimon_japan
Is there any website that lists all of the art books ever made for the Digimon series?  The only ones I definitely know about (and have known about for YEARS) are the memorial books and materials collection/model sheet books for Adventure and 02, the 6 Daizukan books, and of course the Memorial Book that will never come out... *cry*  Another one I have some clue about is one that had the characters of all 4 (at the time) series - I think the title was "Another Stories" or something similar.

I'm pretty sure there are more out there, but I haven't seen any definitive online resource for them (in English, anyway ^_^; ) and I have NO CLUE what they are or what could be in them.  Does anyone else know more?

Tired, but still on track

Shupe had two kills, a block and a dig for the Devils.

That is not me, nor was it a past me.  Even though that is my name and I went to Quincy High School briefly, that Angela is from Quincy High School in Quincy, IL not Quincy, MI.

Apparently we have yet another difference, she's great at volleyball and I never was into sports.

At least I can still live in peace knowing that most of the results I get for my name are about me.  I dominate the internet, for now. Lets hope that the Angela mentioned in that article doesn't go into sports professionally... my net rep might be in trouble if she does, lol.
